These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Man with Van Watford provides man and van, removals, transportation, and related services. By making a booking, using our services, or allowing our team to perform any work on your premises, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms and Conditions, you should not proceed with a booking or use our services.

1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, the following words have the meanings set out below:

Client means the person, company, or organisation that books or pays for the services.

Services means any man and van, removal, relocation, collection, delivery, loading, unloading, packing, unpacking, or related services provided by us.

Vehicle means any van or other vehicle used by us to provide the services.

Goods means the items, belongings, furniture, equipment, or materials that you ask us to move, transport, load, unload, or handle.

2. Scope of Services

2.1 We provide man and van and removal services for domestic and commercial clients, including loading, transportation, and unloading of goods.

2.2 Any additional services, such as packing, furniture disassembly or reassembly, or storage, will be provided only if agreed in advance and may be subject to additional charges.

2.3 We reserve the right to refuse to move any item that, in our reasonable opinion, is unsafe, illegal, excessively heavy, or otherwise unsuitable for transportation in our vehicles.

3. Booking Process

3.1 Bookings can be made in advance through our designated booking channels. You must provide accurate and complete information so that we can estimate time, labour, and vehicle requirements.

3.2 When making a booking, you should provide:

The collection and delivery addresses.

Details of property access, including floors, lifts, parking, and any access restrictions.

An approximate list of items to be moved and any particularly heavy, fragile, or bulky items.

Your preferred date and approximate time of the move.

3.3 Any quotation provided before the service is based on the information you supply. If the information is inaccurate or incomplete, or if the scope of work changes on the day, we may adjust the price accordingly.

3.4 A booking is not confirmed until we have accepted it and, where required, a deposit has been received. We may decline a booking at our discretion.

4. Prices and Payments

4.1 Prices may be quoted as hourly rates, fixed prices, or a combination of both, depending on the nature and duration of the job.

4.2 Unless otherwise stated, prices exclude congestion charges, tolls, parking fees, or other third party charges, which will be added to your final bill where applicable.

4.3 Where a deposit is requested, it must be paid by the deadline advised at the time of booking. We may cancel unconfirmed bookings if a required deposit is not received in time.

4.4 The balance of payment is normally due on completion of the service on the same day, unless otherwise agreed in writing in advance. We reserve the right to require full payment before unloading goods.

4.5 We may charge waiting time if our team is unable to start or continue work due to delays that are outside our control, including but not limited to waiting for keys, lack of access, or your failure to be present at the agreed time.

4.6 All payments must be made in full and without deduction or set off. If payment is not made when due, we may charge interest on the overdue sum and may withhold delivery of goods until payment is received.

5. Cancellations and Amendments

5.1 If you need to cancel or change your booking, you must notify us as early as possible.

5.2 If you cancel more than 48 hours before the scheduled start time, any deposit paid may be refunded or transferred to another date at our discretion.

5.3 If you cancel within 48 hours of the scheduled start time, we reserve the right to retain part or all of your deposit or charge a cancellation fee to cover administration and loss of work.

5.4 If you fail to be present at the agreed time and location, or if we are unable to carry out the work due to your failure to provide accurate details or adequate access, this may be treated as a same day cancellation and charges may apply.

5.5 We will make reasonable efforts to honour all confirmed bookings, but we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule if circumstances beyond our control arise, including vehicle breakdown, severe weather, staff illness, or safety concerns. In such cases, our liability will be limited to refunding any deposit or advance payment you have made for the affected booking.

6. Client Responsibilities

6.1 You are responsible for:

Ensuring that your goods are packed securely and appropriately for transportation, unless we have agreed to provide packing services.

Ensuring that all items are ready for loading at the agreed time.

Obtaining all necessary permissions, permits, and consents for parking, loading, and unloading.

Providing accurate information about access, stairs, lifts, and any restrictions at each address.

6.2 You must be present, or have a responsible representative present, during collection and delivery to direct our team and sign any paperwork. If no one is present, we will unload goods at the nearest safe location or may retain them at your cost.

6.3 Fridges, freezers, and similar appliances should be defrosted and emptied prior to the move. We are not liable for damage caused by leaking or improperly prepared appliances.

6.4 All valuables, including money, important documents, jewellery, and personal devices, should be transported by you separately. We will not accept liability for such items unless previously agreed in writing.

7. Access, Parking, and Property Protection

7.1 You must arrange suitable parking for our vehicle at both the collection and delivery address. Any parking fees, fines, or penalties incurred as a result of inadequate arrangements or instructions may be added to your bill.

7.2 You should take reasonable steps to protect floors, walls, and fixtures in your premises. While we will take care when moving goods, minor scuffs or marks can occur, especially in tight spaces, and are considered a normal risk of moving heavy items.

7.3 If access is significantly more difficult than advised at the time of booking, such as additional flights of stairs, long carry distances, or restricted entrances, we may adjust the price and timing accordingly.

8. Excluded Items and Hazardous Goods

8.1 We do not carry or handle:

Explosives, flammable materials, or hazardous chemicals.

Illegal goods or items obtained unlawfully.

Live animals or plants requiring special environmental conditions.

Perishable food items likely to spoil in transit.

8.2 If you include such items without our prior knowledge, you will be solely responsible for any loss, damage, or penalties that result, and you will indemnify us against any claims arising from their transport.

9. Liability for Loss or Damage

9.1 We will take reasonable care of your goods and property while providing our services. However, our liability is limited as set out in this section.

9.2 We are not liable for loss or damage that arises from:

Inadequate or improper packing by you or a third party.

Normal wear and tear, or deterioration caused by moving pre existing fragile or damaged items.

Goods described as fragile, delicate, or high value unless we have expressly agreed special handling measures in advance.

Acts or omissions of the client or any person acting on your behalf.

9.3 Our total liability for loss of or damage to goods, or for damage to property, whether arising from negligence or otherwise, will not exceed a reasonable and proportionate sum having regard to the value of the services provided and the condition and age of the goods.

9.4 We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including but not limited to loss of profits, income, business, or opportunity, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such loss.

9.5 You must notify us in writing of any loss or damage as soon as reasonably practicable, and in any event within seven days of completion of the services. If you fail to do so, we may not be able to investigate the matter properly and our liability may be reduced or excluded.

10. Delay and Missed Delivery

10.1 We will make reasonable efforts to arrive and complete the service within agreed time slots. However, times are estimates only and are not guaranteed.

10.2 We are not liable for delays caused by traffic conditions, road closures, weather, breakdowns, or other events outside our reasonable control.

10.3 In the event of significant delay, we will aim to keep you informed and to complete the job as soon as reasonably possible. Our liability in such cases will be limited to a proportionate adjustment of the service charge where appropriate.

11. Waste and Disposal Regulations

11.1 We comply with applicable waste and environmental regulations. We cannot remove or dispose of any waste or rubbish unless it is lawful for us to do so and it has been agreed as part of the service.

11.2 You must not use our services to dispose of controlled, hazardous, or prohibited waste. If such items are found among your goods, we may refuse to transport them or may return them to you at your cost.

11.3 If we agree to remove unwanted items for disposal, they must be clearly identified and separated from items to be kept. You will be responsible for any fees or charges associated with lawful disposal.

11.4 We reserve the right to refuse any request that may put us in breach of waste or environmental legislation.

12. Insurance

12.1 We maintain insurance appropriate for a removal and man and van service provider. This may include public liability and cover for goods in transit, subject to the terms, conditions, and exclusions of our insurance policies.

12.2 You are encouraged to arrange your own additional insurance if you require cover beyond the limitations set out in these Terms and Conditions or in our insurance policies.

13. Complaints and Disputes

13.1 If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our services, you should inform us as soon as possible so that we can attempt to resolve the issue.

13.2 We will investigate complaints in a fair and timely manner. You agree to cooperate with us and to provide any information or evidence reasonably required to assess your complaint.

13.3 If a dispute arises that cannot be resolved directly, both parties agree to consider informal dispute resolution before commencing formal legal proceedings.

14. Data Protection and Privacy

14.1 We collect and use personal information only to process bookings, provide services, and manage our business operations in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

14.2 We will not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share your details only where necessary to perform the services, to comply with legal obligations, or to protect our legitimate interests.

15. Termination of Services

15.1 We may suspend or terminate the services at any time if:

You fail to pay any sums due.

You act abusively, unlawfully, or in a way that puts our staff, vehicles, or property at risk.

We reasonably believe that continuing the work would be unsafe or impracticable.

15.2 If we terminate the services due to your breach of these Terms and Conditions, you will remain liable for any charges incurred up to the time of termination and for any losses we reasonably incur as a result.

16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

16.1 These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the services, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

16.2 The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or the services provided.

17. General Provisions

17.1 If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court or competent authority, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

17.2 No waiver by us of any breach of these Terms and Conditions shall be considered a waiver of any subsequent breach of the same or any other provision.

17.3 We may update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version in force at the time of your booking will apply to your service.

17.4 These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between you and us in relation to the services and supersede any prior discussions, correspondence, or understandings.
